Alan earned his BSE degree with honors and advanced standing (graduation in 3 years) from the Department of Electrical Engineering at Princeton in 2000, and stayed in the Electrical Engineering department to complete his Ph.D. (awarded in 2007). He subsequently spent two years at the Naval Research Laboratory as a National Research Council Fellow from 2006-2008, and then was a post-doctoral associate at Rutgers University, Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology, under the supervision of Prof. Eric Garfunkel. His research interests have centered on surface science, with special emphasis on the impact of surfaces and interfaces on electronic structure and device performance.
Alan is currently a Scientist at Evans Analytical Group located in East Windsor, NJ, where his current focus is on Secondary Ion Mass Spectromety (SIMS).
