Julio received his undergraduate and M.S.E. degrees in Electrical Engineering from the Catholic University of Chile. After a short stint in industry he went on to pursue his Ph.D. at Princeton. There he worked on quantum communications with advisor Vince Poor, and had a great time. After graduation in 2002 he joined United Technologies Research Center, the central R&D lab for United Technologies Corporation. He works on R&D projects that bridge novel academic research with critical needs from UTC's business units. His most recent interests are in fault detection and wireless sensor networks.
