Pei Chen joined Qualcomm in 2001, where she is currently a Staff Engineer in the OOTCS R&D (Office of the Chief Scientist R&D) Department. Pei has been involved in a number of projects on CDMA cellular and satellite communication systems, focusing on physical layer system design and DSP firmware development. Her research interests include channel coding, speech source coding, signal detection and estimation.
Pei received her B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Science and Technology of China. She received numerous honors and awards during her undergraduate study there. Prior to her graduate study at Princeton, she was supported by the Japanese Government (Ministry of Education, Science and Culture) Scholarship and studied for two years in Professor Takagi’s Lab at the University of Tokyo. While being a graduate student at Princeton, she worked for two summers at Mitsubishi Electric Research Laboratories (MERL) in New Jersey.
