Chee Wei Tan received the B.S. (First Class Honors) from National University of Singapore in 2002, and the M.A. and Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from Princeton University, Princeton, NJ, in 2006 and 2008, respectively. His research interests are in networking and cloud computing, statistical inference in data analytics, information theory, nonlinear optimization and its applications. He is an Associate Professor at the City University Hong Kong. Previously, he was a Postdoctoral Scholar at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech) and a Visiting Faculty at Qualcomm R&D. He was the Chairman of the Information Theory Society Hong Kong Chapter in 2014 and 2015. He is serving as an Editor for the IEEE/ACM Transactions on Networking and an Editor for the IEEE Transactions on Communications. He received the 2008 Princeton Gordon Wu Prize for Excellence.
