Yihong Qi is currently with AMD Co., Schaumburg, IL. She is involved in research and development of the physical layer of wireless multicarrier communication systems which support mobile TV.
She received the B.S. degree from Peking University, Beijing, China, in 1997, and the M.A. and Ph.D. degrees from Princeton University, Princeton, NJ, in 2000 and 2003, respectively.
In 2004, she was with the Wireless Laboratory, NTT DoCoMo, Yokosuka, Japan. From 2004 to 2006, she was with UWB Technology Group, the National Institute of Information and Communications Technology, Yokosuka, Japan. Her research experiences include areas of wireless geolocation systems and algorithms, ultra-wideband communication systems and sensor networks.
Yihong Qi has provided significant contributions to the IEEE 802.15.4a standards on wireless low data rate personal area networks using UWB technologies. She is one of leading researchers in the wireless ranging and geolcoation field. She has been the author of more than 20 international journal and conference papers. She is a member of the IEEE.
