Glass is a rare material in that it can combine fascinating properties such as toughness, angstrom-level smoothness and engineered thermal properties together with transparency.  In this talk we will discuss Corning's historic, current and future glass innovations. After reviewing the key accomplishments of our MIRTHE collaboration, we will introduce a timeline of Corning innovations that dates back to the 19th century. We will show the evolution of the modern display industry and how Corning has contributed - with a focus on high-performance displays and Gorilla Glass. We will conclude with a roadmap of future glass initiatives.
