Henry Birge-Lee's project protects against internet threat

Princeton Undergraduate Henry Birge-Lee is part of a research team that has pioneered a protection against potential cyberattacks that a major internet security firm has already begun rolling out.  The project focuses on “digital certificates.” In their project, Birge-Lee and colleagues demonstrated a new and harder-to-detect form of this subterfuge; and then they demonstrated new countermeasures to protect against it. 

Mittal and Chiang win funding from IP Accelerator Fund

EE Prof. Prateek Mittal and Prof. Mung Chiang (Dean of the College of Engineering, Perdue University) have won funding from the Intellectual Property Accelerator Fund for their proposal entitled, " ProCMotive: Bringing Programmability and Connectivity into Isolated Vehicles ".

Prof. Prateek Mittal has been awarded the 2017 IBM Faculty Award for his research on privacy-enhancing technologies.

Three Graduate Students received Yan Huo *94 Fellowship

Three graduate students have been awarded the Yan Huo *94 Graduate Fellowship in Electrical Engineering: Yushan Liu, advised by Prateek Mittal, Prashanth Venkataram, advised by Alejandro Rodriguez, and Ross Kerner, advised by Barry Rand.  The fellowship is for the 2017 - 2018 academic year and is used to support post-general exam PhD students.

Phones vulnerable to location tracking even when GPS services off

Princeton researchers (Prof. Prateek Mittal, Prof. Niraj Jha, EE Grad Students Arsalan Mosenia and Xiaoliang Dai) have found that smartphone data can be used to track users even when the phone’s GPS is off. 

ELE 297 Project receives Best Presentation Award at HotPETs 2017

Henry Birge-Lee’s  ELE 297 Project with graduate students Yixin Sun and Annie Edmundson received the best presentation award at the Workshop on Hot Topics in Privacy Enhancing Technologies (HotPETs 2017). The students were advised by Prof. Prateek Mittal and Prof. Jennifer Rexford.
