Department honors 28 students completing the PhD Program

On June 1, 2015, the EE Department celebrated 28 graduate students completing the PhD program this past year.  Family and friends attended the breakfast reception with the students and faculty advisors to celebrate this milestone in the students education.
 
Prof. Peter Ramadge, Director of Graduate Students in Electrical Engineering provided welcoming remarks and introduced Prof. Sigurd Wagner to introduce the alumni speaker, Yu Chen, *99.
 
Following the remarks,  Prof. Ramadge announced the graduate awards.  The Early Career Award is given to students who have completed the second year of the program with an outstanding general exam grade.  This year’s recipients are Changchang Liu, advised by Prof. Prateek Mittal, and Ross Kerner, advised by Prof. Barry Rand.  The Best Dissertation Award was given to Sonika Jorhi, advised by Prof. Ravin Bhatt.
 
The department also acknowledged the students that have completed the second year of the program and their general exams.  Finally, the students completing the program were introduced and given a gift from the department.
