Department presents Graduate Students with Awards

The Electrical Engineering Department awarded three graduate students with awards during the Graduate Breakfast Reception and Ceremony held on June 1, 2015.
 
Changchang Liu, advised by Prof. Prateek Mittal, and Ross Kerner, advised by Prof. Barry Rand, received the Early Career PhD Award.  This award is given following the completion of the second year of the program and outstanding performance on the general exam.
 
Sonika Johri, advised by Prof. Ravin Bhatt, received the Best Dissertation Award.  This award is given to students who have completed the PhD program with the best dissertation.
 
Ben Wu, advised by Prof. Paul Prucnal, and Mei Chai Zheng, advised by Prof. Claire Gmachl, co-received the Newport Award in Photonics.  This award waspresented by PRISM Director and EE Professor, James Sturm.  For more information on this award, please click here.
