Former EE postdoc Sander Wahls receives Johann-Philipp-Reis Award

Former EE postdoc Sander Wahls has received the Johann-Philipp-Reis Award for research on fast nonlinear Fourier transforms and their application in fiber-optic communication.  This research was jointly started with Prof. Vince Poor while he was a postdoc at Princeton.  The award is conferred every two years by the German Association for Electrical, Electronic & Information Technologies (VDE), Deutsche Telekom and the cities of Gelnhausen and Friedrichsdorf for a distinguished, innovative publication in the field of communications engineering to researchers not older than 40 years.
