The Freshman Scholar Institute program hosted 77 incoming freshman this summer for a 7 week academic program. The Foundations in Engineering course was added to this year's program and was taught by Prof. Andrew Houck and Prof. Claire Gmachl. The course featured laboratory-based work with the goal of reducing attrition among students who have expressed an interest in those fields. Students constructed "rocket" to provide students with a familiarity with physics and math as well as a hands on design experience with engineering. To read the full story of FSI, click here.
