Grad Student Deborah Varnell (advisor Prof. Claire Gmachl) has been selected as a finalist of the Maiman Student Paper Competition at the Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics (CLEO) 2016 for her presentation entitled “Spectroscopy and Imaging Using a Mid-IR Quantum Cascade Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) System“. This award recognizes student innovation, research excellence and presentation skills in the areas of laser technology and electro-optics. Well-known for its world-renowned peer-reviewed program, CLEO unites the field of lasers and electro-optics by bringing together all aspects of laser technology from basic research to industry applications.
