New Microchip "Piton" presented at Hot Chips Symposium

Prof. David Wentzlaff and his Parallel Group have developed a new computer chip that promises to boost performance of data centers that lie at the core of online services from email to social media.  "Piton" named after the metal spikes driven by rock climbers into mountainsides to aid in their ascent, was presented on August 23rd at the Hot Chips Symposium on high-performance chips.  To read the full story, click here.
