Prof. Wysocki partners with IBM Thomas J. Watson Research Center in Yorktown Heights, NY, to develop an integrated highly sensitive and reliable optical sensors for monitoring methane emissions. The team lead by IBM together with researchers from Princeton and Harvard universities was awarded a $4.5 million U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Advanced Research Projects Agency-Energy (ARPA-E) grant within the “Methane Observation Networks with Innovative Technology to Obtain Reductions” (MONITOR) program that aims at developing innovative technologies to cost-effectively and accurately locate and measure methane emissions associated with natural gas production.
