Graduate Student Commencement May 30th – Dr. Anthony Ephremides *71 guest speaker

The Electrical Engineering Department will celebrate the 2016 Masters and PhD recipients on Monday, May 30th with a breakfast reception and ceremony.   EE Alumnus, Anthony Ephremides *71, Distinguished University Professor and Cynthia Kim eminent Professor of Information Technology at the University of Maryland will be the guest speaker.
Dr. Ephremides received his BS in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens in Athens, Greece in 1967 and his MA and PhD in Electrical Engineering from Princeton University in 1969 and 1971 respectively.  He was advised by Professor John Thomas.  Dr. Ephremides became a faculty member of the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department of the University of Maryland in 1971. He serves in many capacities in the IEEE and other organizations and became a founding member of the Institute for Systems Research of which he holds a joint appointment. Dr. Ephremides research interests span all aspects of Communication Systems with a focus on Energy Efficiency and Cross-Layer Approaches to Design.  For his full biography, please click here.
