Xueshi Yang is currently a staff design engineer at Marvell Semiconductor, Inc., where he is working on advanced signal processing and coding techniques for data storage channels. Prior to joining Marvell in 2005, he was a research staff member with Seagate Research, Seagate Technology in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
From 2001 to 2002, he was a Research Associate at Electrical Engineering Department, Princeton University, working with Dr. Vincent Poor. He obtained his PhD degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering Department from Drexel University, 2001. His PhD advisor is Dr. Athina Petropulu.
XueshiYang published more than 20 referred papers and holds more than 30 US patents (including pending applications). He was the co-recipient (with O. Cappé, E. Moulines and J.-C. Pesquet, A. Petropulu) of the 2005 Signal Processing Magazine Best Paper Award from the IEEE Signal Processing Society for the paper: "Long-Range Dependence and Heavy-Tail Modeling for Teletraffic Data," that appeared in the May 2002 issue of the IEEE Signal Processing Magazine.
