Energy & Environment

Modern life relies on energy but the environmental impact of producing and using that energy is an increasing concern. New technologies are paramount in the move to sustainable energy production and combatting climate change, and the Princeton Department of Electrical Engineering is on the forefront of developing solutions to these challenges. Our students are continually developing novel solutions to energy generation, transport, storage, and conservation. Their research also focuses on precisely measuring and monitoring the environmental impacts of existing and emerging technology. Through the study of new materials for solar, thermal and mechanical energy production, electrical engineers at Princeton are making a measurable impact in the future of environmentally responsible energy production.
